Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association (JMTBA) International Business Director Kazuhiko Tanaka focused on the Japanese machine tool orders in 2021, the forecast for 2022, and the direction of the future development of the Japanese machine tool industry. 2021 Japanese machine tool orders totaled 1,541.42 billion yen, a year-on-year increase of 70.9%; of which, the Japanese domestic orders of 510.32 billion yen, a year-on-year increase of 57.3%, overseas orders 1031.1 billion yen, up 78.6% year-on-year, overseas orders accounted for 66.9%.
